Research

As a communication and leadership student, I learned about and practiced various types of research, including secondary research (literature reviews) and primary research (surveys, focus groups, content analyses, needs assessments, and internal and external communication audits). I also have experience with obtaining Institutional Review Board approval. To protect the privacy of my human subjects, I am unable to share all of my research results. 
External Communication Audit
As part of my course requirements in Research Methods in Communication, I conducted a media audit of Barnes & Noble Booksellers. For this assignment, I read sixty news articles about the company from 2012 and 2013, tracked these articles and notable themes in an Excel sheet, and drew conclusions and recommendations from these themes. My report and tracking sheet are available below in Scribd format.
